Hawks International Youth Organization Awards Medgar
Evers Students Scholarships

New York-- Hawks International Youth Organization (HIYO) is
a community based organization in existence over 30 years.
HIYO provides community based services in education, arts,
and immigration services.
HIYO is
most noted for their Eastern Parkway Masquerade Presentation
on Labor Day. In keeping with its community dedication HIYO
awarded two scholarships to students of Medgar Evers
College. Hawks International scholarship program called
"Project Under-Wing" targets tomorrows leaders in
various disciples in order to effect change at the most
fundamental levels.

Donald Ian James & Ms. Ruth Caines, the recipients of
this years” Project Under-Wing” will have the task of
educating the community at large on various issues in the
political science arena. "One of the ways to effect
change is by helping to empower tomorrow's leaders.
"Working in partnership with Medgar Evers College,
Hawks International Youth Organization is providing these
two scholarships to two MEC students in the political
science arena to assist them in developing skills that are
necessary to educate our community about critical issues
that impact on our everyday lives," said Ralph Ramsey,
President of the Youth Organization.
"Our
goal is to continue this effort so that years to come, more
college students can benefit from our collective efforts and
do their part in helping to strengthen our community"

forge the future, " said Ramsey
